Is Hiding the SSID on a secure wireless network a good idea?

I just read a very interesting article on ZDNet by George Ou, about whether or not hiding the SSID on a secure network, improves security. According to the article, suppressing or hiding the SSID on an access point or router, actually leaves you vulnerable to hacking attempts. It surprised me, so take a look.
